A key media concept to take into
consideration is genre; it will be a great focus during the creation of a music
video. Genre is important because it’s a way to catergorise a various amount of
musical tastes. I will have to select a particular genre to work with for my
project then produce a video that features the genres conventions and relates
towards the target audience. I should also contemplate challenging the genres
conventions to add more interest towards my video instead of following
stereotypical genre conventions.
A genre of music is a category that gives
the idea of a particular piece of music to have a belonging. This music would relate towards a various set
of conventions, ideas and traditions. Each specific genre has particular trends
relating to the music such as fashion, dancing and singing.
Sub-genres are genres that have been established by a particular genre’s conventions being slightly changed. Sub-genres still follow genre conventions however change specific ideas to create a new sub-genre.
